Bringing History to Life

Ancient visitor is a historical educational outreach programme, based in and around Yorkshire, aiming at bringing history to life for KS2 children across the UK. Our interactive workshops and engaging activities are designed to spark curiosity and deepen understanding of the Romans here in Britain. We are dedicated to making learning a fun and immersive experience for both students and teachers.

Our story

Having taught my own class for a few years , I've always had a love for history and I've always believed that history should be more than just dates and facts. It should be a living, breathing experience that students can connect with on a deeper level. Throughout my years in the classroom, I saw first-hand how traditional methods of teaching history often left students disengaged. The lack of hands-on learning opportunities in schools was a constant frustration for me—how could students truly grasp the life of a Roman soldier or the daily routines of an ancient civilization without the chance to touch, see, and feel the past?

This passion for interactive learning inspired me to found Ancient Visitor, a company dedicated to bringing history workshops directly into schools. My mission is to transform history lessons from passive learning into active exploration. By bringing authentic artefacts and immersive experiences into the classroom, I aim to ignite students' curiosity and help them see history as more than just a subject in a textbook. Whether it's handling Roman coins or reenacting historical events, I want students to feel like they’re stepping back in time.

My goal is simple: to make history come alive for every student and show them that the past is not just something to be learned, but something to be experienced.
